My trip to Basel was a short one–I was only in the city for a few hours–but I’m glad to say that I still I managed to see quite a lot. I first took a walk along the river, enjoying a view of the older part of the city from the opposite bank. The weather was beautiful, and plenty of people were riding their bikes, sitting on benches, and walking on the paths near the water. I then was happy to be able to see a special exhibition of work by James Ensor at Kunstmuseum Basel, the museum of modern art. I was glad to still have plenty of daylight to see the area around the spectacular Grossmünster, and to enjoy walking down the little alleyways and side streets. Basel is beautiful!
